I’ve created a process to have a solid foundation for my work as a designer within different projects. This flow describes how I approach tasks. Depending on the project, some steps can be replaced or skipped. But there are mandatory ones, which are genially a skeleton of any project I do. I’ve highlighted them with green colour.
My process began with a comprehensive understanding of who our users are. According to the project brief, our primary target audience is comprised of individuals seeking a luxury car rental experience. These are customers who place a high value on their time. They are likely to prioritize convenience, efficiency, and a seamless user experience. Therefore, our services and platform must be designed to meet these expectations, providing a luxurious, hassle-free car rental experience that respects their time and caters to their needs. Brief also emphasised on the importance of engagement the young audience.
I created a User Flow to establish a clear understanding of the user's journey. By mapping out the sequence of actions and decisions users would take within the app, I gained insights into their needs, pain points, and desired outcomes. This proactive approach not only informed the design process but also ensured that the final product was intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with user expectations
Open flow chart in a new tabI started with rough sketches in my notebook and then turned them into high-fidelity wireframes using Figma.
I prepared UI Kit: a set of components with different states to make my design consistent.
In accordance with the project brief, my primary focus was to ensure that the visual design of the app was straightforward, uncluttered, and devoid of unnecessary details that could potentially overwhelm the user. To achieve this, I deliberately opted for a minimalist aesthetic that prioritized functionality and user-friendliness. However, to prevent the interface from becoming too sterile or impersonal, I incorporated a small, playful animation during the booking process. This subtle addition serves to make the booking process more enjoyable and less tedious.
